Testimonials

"I received your Chant Kit recently and found it to be a high quality and attractive presentation a
s a resource for people, who would like to learn chant.  I was recently appointed as pastor of a small parish, where I am now beginning to cultivate good liturgy and sacred music. Your book could be very helpful as a basic text to help people learn fundamental chants, as well as a hymnal with core chants that can be used in the liturgy."

   St. Peter's Church,
Volo, Illinois

"The Chant Kit is really very beautiful and very useful especially for those who have only little background on Gregorian Chants. The pronunciation is very clear because they are sung slowly and clearly.  I was very impressed with it.  I have some other CDs on Gregorian songs, but I like your CDs more because of its tutorial functions.  It is a necessity for churches and seminaries who intend to  introduce the Tridentine Latin Mass.  You see I have bought other related materials to the old rite to be given to friend priests and seminarians and two bishops whom I know.  The Chant Kit would be a perfect complement to those materials.  I and a few friends are so in love with the Tridentine Latin Mass and would be most happy to do our part in spreading them and justifying Pope Benedict XVI's Summorum Pontificum.  And your chant kits are of great help in doing so."

"Since the foundation of our community in the Jubilee year of Our Lord 2000 we have fostered love and devotion towards the old rite of the Mass. We had strived to learn Gregorian chants in order to restore the sacredness of our  liturgical celebrations through self study. We just listened to recordings and follow through the notes in the old hymnal or music books. Many times this process became too complicated for us.The Chant Kit was the answer to our prayers. The Chant Kit was a revolutionary, efficient, easy to use and to understand tool in learning the Sacred Chants. This will truly be a great help for the restoration of the sacred in the Church!  May the light of the Face of the Lord shine upon you!"

"I received your Chant Kit and enjoy it very much.  I listen to it while working out on the treadmill (believe it or not) and think you've done a great service in creating a very good learning tool for the advancement of chant for the parish setting; especially in parishes who don't already chant, but would be open to it.

Most parishes in our diocese do not chant on a regular basis.  I believe your Chant Kit is user-friendly enough so that music directors (inexperienced with chant) could use it as a way to better understand, familiarize and educate themselves.   I like the slower pace with which you chant, and also the frequent breaths you take......strictly for learning purposes.  I liken it to what we call "chunking" in elementary music teaching, as the bite size snipets make for easier digesting and learning.

As for my own parish, where I direct a 35 voice adult choir:  We have been singing Gregorian Chant at mass weekly for more than 10 years, and already sing many chants that you have in The Chant Kit.  A series of chant workshops I've given to our parishoners in the past has greatly facilitated in this endeavor.  I believe your Chant Kit to be an excellent learning resource, and in future parish workshops, I plan to make The Chant Kit known to attendees.  Also, I am presenting a chant workshop for parish musicians in two dioceses in February, 2009, and will share The Chant Kit with them, as a valuable resource for parish chant education.  I appreciate The Chant Kit - thanks for creating it.  God bless you."

"I just want to tell you that I love listening to the CDs you sent me.  I love listening to the Gregorian music.  Although I don't understand Latin, I am able to look up on the internet the titles and see the English translations.  What beautiful chants.  I wish the church would bring back this beautiful music to worship the Lord.  I was young when the Church converted to English and I barely remember it, but I have found this music to be especially meaningful to me when I'm praying and thinking of our Lord.  Thank you for giving a very middle age person the gift of knowing and understanding this music.  God Bless you."

"I am so grateful that you have this wonderful fountain of Church wisdom and music.  The music of my youth that still echos in my heart is not to be found in regular use in church.  My third order Marian group wanted me to look into Gregorian chant.  The music elevates the mind and illuminates the soul.  Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!  I have listened to your chant samples, and wept for joy.  I can hardly wait to get my Chant Kit, and start teaching our third order this beautiful music.  Yours in Christ Jesus and Mary Queen of Peace."
